Edit: found some more info about the BMP-3M upgrade, only the front end armor seems to protective enough against 30 mm AP rounds. I guess it's the missing directional damage system, because i hit it from the sides and back. Volk. Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 At what range? Last I checked about September 2020 (pre-2.7), neither the HE nor AP ammo did any damage from 2.8km in the rear of a BMP-3. At 600m with AP ammo, hitting the side turret did nothing, side chassis 27%, rear 26% per hit. From 400m AP to the front did nothing. Not sure from what distance you'd start hurting it between that 2.8km going into 600m in the side/rear, or if there's a range at which AP can pierce the front - my take-home was Vikhr them because of the risk of their retaliation, unless you were really desperate and only facing that one BMP-3 in the area and could sneak up from behind without it turning. Sh4rk Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 BMP-3, even the upgraded versions, are rated for 12.7mm (.50) rounds, not 30 mm. They had become like they were made of paper in early 2.5.x, and were being killed by 7.62 mm gunfire even. Then they got "fixed" (buffed) but maybe a bit too much? Or maybe it's the Ka50's 30 mm gun that needs to be fixed. 2

Volk. Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 I've also perceived this. Too lazy to go fetch trackfiles, but recently (i.e. somewhere 2.7+) I've also noticed rounds hitting but causing zero damage. Especially HE rounds on trucks and BTR-80s, where one can see the impact, but no damage.
