HoYa Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Can we please, please, please, please, please, please turn up the tanker lights ? in VR with a rift 2 I can barely see them and mid air refueling is hard enough ! PLEASE ? 1
FoxTwo Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 The director lights are difficult to see in real life. Most pilots just fly formation.
HoYa Posted May 16, 2021 Author Posted May 16, 2021 I’m fairly certain the pilots can actually see the lights, we, in VR, have a hard time seeing the location not to mention the shape of them...
Zeagle Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 I am quite sure that the lights are designed to be used with NVG and therefore are very dim
HoYa Posted May 16, 2021 Author Posted May 16, 2021 Ok, yeah your right ! We’re not supposed to see the lights in day time. That makes perfect sense....
Zeagle Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 At night they will be dim. In day they will be bright. But they are not all that bright ever

Many a real life boomer had heard pleas to that effect, usually in a less polite form, and the reply is invariably "Sorry, sir, the lights are full bright!". They really are that dim. At night, it's OK. During the day, it's better to look at the tanker. If you can make out the lights, good for you, but they're usually too dim to see. KC-46 has LED director lights, so those would be bright enough to see in daylight. That said, we don't have a KC-46. Edited May 17, 2021 by Dragon1-1
5ephir0th Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 It´s really supposed that tanker lights at night refueling is only mean to be seen with NVG? Cause in the game you can´t see it without NVG NZXT H9 Flow Black | Intel Core i5 13600KF OCed P5.6 E4.4 | Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5-6000 32GB C30 OCed 6600 C32 | nVidia GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition | Western Digital SN770 2TB | Gigabyte GP-UD1000GM PG5 ATX 3.0 1000W | SteelSeries Apex 7 | Razer Viper Mini | SteelSeries Artics Nova 7 | LG OLED42C2 | Xiaomi P1 55" Virpil T-50 CM2 Base + Thrustmaster Warthog Stick | WinWing Orion 2 F16EX Viper Throttle | WinWing ICP | 3 x Thrustmaster MFD | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | Oculus Quest 2 DCS World | Persian Gulf | Syria | Flaming Cliff 3 | P-51D Mustang | Spitfire LF Mk. Dragon1-1 Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Last time I tried I could see them both at night and at dusk, and I fly in VR. Of course, I haven't tried night AAR in 2.7, but I don't think that particular thing had changed.
