Now bare with me because I'm not very articulate when it comes to having a serious and well thought out conversation. High school drop out here. I was just over at a site called thaiflight, they have over 20,000 members, to gauge their interest in BS -- not good. Now, I know these guys are sim fanatics just like you and me. However, their sims of choice seem to be MSFS 2004, FSX, IL2 and Falcon 4 while their interest in BS and Lock On is pretty under whelmed. They do have a dedicated lock on forum which appeared to be semi active, with very few dedicated lock on fans. Even fewer for FC. I know what you're thinking because I'm thinking the same thing. Flight sim 2004, FSX, Falcon, IL2 and Lock On were pirated hence their popularity -- no doubt about that. True, FC isn't pirated and so the number of people playing it is dismal in this country. But there are people on that site that appear to want to support this genre by buying legitimate copies. I believe it's in ED's best interest to send one of the mods at thaiflight a copy of BS to preview. Again, yes, there are definitely people there, probably a vast number of them, that buy pirated games so I understand ED's reluctant. But from what I've read, there are quite a few stand-up guys among them. The owner of the site, I think his user name is Smart, seems like a great guy. Why not give him a copy of BS to review? From what I've read, Mr. Smart is a true fan of this genre and he seems very, very well educated with excellent English comprehension. There's also another guy name winther or something like that. Too lazy to check but he's a mod there. I think these two have been following the development of BS just like us. No. No...I am not affiliated with them in any way shape and form; I just want ED to do well. My user name at that site is 'naratib' so you can search for my posts there. All my posts were written in Eng. because I'm not very good at writing Thai. Yeah my Eng. grammar sucks lollipop too. :P One more thing. I know they realize that ED is going to protect their investment with some kind of copy protection; one that'll be difficult to crack like FC. So, I think, some might be concerned whether or not BS is going to be, one, available, and two, affordable. Most games, legit copies, sell around 350 - 600 baht and any thing between this price range should be affordable for most Thais that own computers. I read that to get the price within that range, the DVDs would have to be manufactured in Thailand which means, New Era Games (the only company importing flight sims and its hardware) is going to have to secure a license to crank out the DVDs of BS locally. If that didn't happen, then BS is going to have to be imported by them, and who knows if they want to. They did import Falcon AF and Lock On Gold so the odds are there, but that will jack the price up to around 1200 baht which is not very affordable I'm afraid. Most people here make 4000-9000 baht a month -- I'm somewhere in between. And with the current exchange rate of around 1 usd for 33 baht...not good. Anyway, I'll be happy to act as some kind of liaison between the two communities. I do know how to write Thai. It's just that it takes forever to crank out a paragraph which will include a hefty amount of misspellings. It was just a thought that occurred after spending several hours reading the lomac thread there. And we know misinformation can go a long way. There was one guy, a senior member, who seems intent on misleading people. He said they ( ED) keep releasing 'reviews' (he was talking about producer's notes) instead of releasing the game. In another thread he said they keep postponing it and postponing it... Now, I don't know the level of English comprehension for this guy, but seeing how the vast majority counts on a few who can read English to bring them news, this can't be good. I'll do my best to give them facts but I'm not really part of their circle. The last time I posted there, if I remember correctly, was over six months ago. Like I said, give a beta to a well respected member there to evaluate is the best PR for ED. Again. I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING FROM ED. Don't need free copy of BS either. I'm more than happy to plunge money into the one game I've been waiting for. AND I do not personally know any of the guys there so there is no hidden agenda from me. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

I don't really visit any of the Thai website because most of them tend to annoy the crap out of me after a bit of reading. Anyway, I think thaiflight is the only flight sim site owned by Thai(s). ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Russian version of FC costs about 1/3 of the International price. International version is distributed by Fighter Collection, and Russian by 1C. But, you cannot order Russian FC, at least not that easily. In most Russian webshops you cannot pay with International money transfer options. Mostly they use Webmoney and stuff availabe only in Russia (and ex-USSR countries). And then you wander why is there so many Russians playing FC :D I'm selling MiG-21 activation key.
