i know. but the gap between multithreaded and not , can be huge. the game feeling can suffert a lot.

Try stalker 1.006, on 1 core only. only 10 -15 % less cpu time consumed, but these 15% count a lot.

okay, so , what's the story about server? big war will need a lot of cpu time. i think it reasonnably can't be done on game client. we will need console server. is it planned ?

Q: Will DCS: Black Shark be Vista-compatible and take advantage of multi-core processors?

A: The initial release of DCS will use a heavily modified version of our TFCSE simulation engine that will run Windows XP SP2 and Vista equally well using either DirectX 9 or DirectX 10. However, DCS versions based on the TFCSE engine will not take advantage of DirectX 10 unique features or multi-core processors.

We plan however to provide such features in our new simulation engine that is currently in development for later versions of DCS.

Plz use the forum search feature, there have been multiple questions about there being a dedicated server or not. This is very important to keep the forum informative and redundant posts to a minimum.

To answer your question: AFAIK ED plan to make a ded server version in the near future, however, it will definately NOT be in the initial release.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.
