Yami Nemesis Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Hi to all... Do you think would be a good idea that the "arcade mode and/or simulation mode" of the "DCS" have an option in configuration for graphics and other with special effects (in all aspects) of "Hollywood", "Glowing Amraam", "HAWX" or "ACE COMBAT 6"? :smilewink: *For give you emotion without limits!!!:megalol: *For give you one ambient of movie and of full adrenaline!!!:pilotfly: *Clearly, it would be an option to be chosen by the user to give the touch of l"uxury" What think about of this? :book: Greetings :D And sorry for my bad english
Kuky Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 You have something similar in graphics drivers (at least for ATI card) in form of "sepia" B&W" tone and few more... nothing I would wanna use when flying, for movie making it might have some use. kyleh613 Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Silent Hunter 4 had this built in I believe, and someone made a really neat mod for Silent Hunter 3. It was a cool feature that made the explosions more intense and unrealistic, but in a cool way. It might be neat for Black Shark while in Arcade mode, and maybe even simulation mode.
telepathiclove Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 If you mean an option to enable big Hollywood style explosions and stuff, then yes I would love that, and personally I think it should be set like that as default too. They may add that some time too. To me, the most interesting thing will be to see just how flexible this game actually is. I have no idea how it will be. A sim is very valuable to sim fans, but not to arcade gamers. And conversely an arcade game is not much fun for sim players. So I will be interested to see if this game can get both types of gamer playing together in the same game. If it can do that, I will be very impressed. Although, it's not that difficult when I think that LOMAC achieved it to some extent at least.
Kuky Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 ...So I will be interested to see if this game can get both types of gamer playing together in the same game... I can answer this for you straight away... both types of player can play this title (Black Shark) but not with same settings :book: Gamer mode for gamers and realstic/hard mode for propper simmers PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
RvETito Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 As Wags noted in his last prodicer's note there are 'intermediate' levels between full realism and arcade mode. You can customize reality yourself, up to certain degree. "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=
sobek Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 How will multiplayer handle different realism settings? Are they forced by the server? Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Kuky Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 How will multiplayer handle different realism settings? Are they forced by the server? you guessed it :) PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
BattleMetalChris Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 (edited) I do love the way a simple use of options lets you choose between 'arcade' and 'full on sim with beards'. Someone needs to make a time machine, go back 10 years and tell Codemasters about this before they started the 'Race Driver' series. GRiD would be an amazing game if it whoever coded the handling had actually driven a car, ever. Edited October 17, 2008 by BattleMetalChris
