Knock-Knock Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Now we can only copy between airbases, or from a FARP, Static warehouse and ship to a airbase warehouse. What I would like to see, is the ability to copy to those placed FARP, warehouse and ships. In other words, have them show up in the warehouse list. 1 - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |

Tank50us Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 As an addition to this, I'd like to see an option to have weapons grouped by 'class', IE, grouping weapons of similar type into one 'super' type that when you rearm with one, it subtracts from the total within the class. For example, the R73 'Archer' and the AIM-9X Sidewinder are both off-boresight Fox-2s, and should be classed together so that if you have 20 (under the current system it would be a 10/10 split) of them in the stocks, and an Hornet takes two, then there's 18 in the stocks. At which point an allied Flanker or Fulcrum can come by and now has 18 of the type available rather than just 10. This way we can have a system wherein we can have 0 logistics (unlimited everything), 'easy' Logistics (the system I mentioned), and 'hard' logistics (where every different type is counted separately)

So we'd have an 'add magazine' button, which will add a magazine (essentially a folder inside the warehouse editor, that we can rename, edit or delete), then we can click on the newly created magazine and have an 'add weapon record' button, which brings up a window that allows us to search for a weapon we want (we can either scroll through a massive list of all of them, or we can search for one explicitly, using a search bar), we can alter the current and maximum quantities of the weapon (useful for defining maximum magazine size for resupplies, as well as things like ships), though we should also have an option to make a certain record unlimited (for instance, I might want an unlimited amount of gun ammunition for a particular gun - ammo that can be searched for by typing in the name of the aircraft or the name of the gun or gunpod), but a limited number of missiles. C:MANO also has a filter for 'add weapons', allowing you to just see weapons that are compatible with aircraft currently based at an airfield (i.e aircraft that are either starting from the ramp or runway at said airfield or that are scheduled to a land there). It might also be useful to set the rate at which weapons will transfer, say time in seconds, per weapon (which you can leave at 0 for instant transferral). The other thing, is instead of having a warehouse for each airfield, have a unique warehouse for each ammunition storage unit (like a bunker), so if an ammunition depot gets attacked, only the weapons in damaged/destroyed bunkers will be lost. Though in keeping with the OP, there should definitely be an option to copy and paste the contents of a warehouse into any other. This should also apply to cargo trucks, and could also apply to fuel tanks and trucks too - allowing us to specify how much fuel, of a particular type, is present (and there should be options for volumes and masses, both in imperial and metric), here you could also have an optional restriction, to only allow an amount of fuel that is less than or equal to the actual amount of fuel a particular unit can carry (be that a fuel tank/bladder, fuel truck, or even ship). The other thing that ties into the warehouse system on C:MANO is weapons on say ground units and ships. It usually sets it up such that each weapon has it's own magazine in the warehouse editor for each unit (so a tank will have a magazine for its main cannon, another one for it's coax, if it has a commanders MG that too, etc, allowing you to configure the type and amount of ammunition in each, so long as its compatible with the weapon). The same is true for ships, which will have individual magazines for guns, launchers, even countermeasures. This might all be suitable for a separate post though.
