If there is small hope that Northrop grumman would kind to provide help, that would be remarkbly good( razbam got help from Boeing on f15e and truegrit show a photo of their extensive stocker including german airforce)

i saw an interview yesterday about a verteran tomcat pilot (name Mike Rabens)  who later is an exectuive in northrop grumman (and he is also the founder of  "f14 association")

in the interview he said if there is a chance, he could be able to get in touch of tomcat ahead than any one else, maybe he could provide some adequate resoureces to further refine the moduel ( like advance digitial simualtion in a super computer or more flight data or more SME)

As I understand a lot of these connections have already been contacted and involved. Just because former Captains and Admirals make requests and call favors doesn't mean PTID documents are magically going to appear, nor all the details about how it worked or even getting the Navy to officially declassify information so former RIOs can even talk about the systems. And even if they technically could, there's no assurances they would.

I mean... I'd just settle for the NAVAIR AAA-1A which has the RIO TID Tapes with the dual line of info in them before ever asking for PTID....

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have more. I'd love to find a way for the PTID to get done, and the older 80s-90s upgrades to the Fishbowl. But from what I've gathered asking the HB guys direct is that even with VIPs asking, former Admirals, active ones even, some of the data is either 1) Gone, 2) Classified, or 3) is neither but getting the Navy to actually care enough to do something with requests doesn't always happen. Even with FOIA requests sometimes they'll find the easy out instead of actually fulfilling the request.

I don't think we should ever stop trying. But even with the right amount of data, HB has to look at "is the juice worth the squeeze" to make certain changes. In the future they may be juggling 2 or more new modules like the A-6 while also trying to keep the F-14 and Viggen working correctly as DCS constantly is in flux. I get the vibe that some of these changes would be worth it to them, but not things that would require a massive rework of the systems. From some of the things I've seen, PTID came along with a number of things and would require a lot of work, not as simple as just modeling it visually and mapping all the pages in the MFD, but some of the other periphery systems in the back seat as far as radios, nav, or IFF that may have changed as well. And that's even before the GPS integrations, which further added more.

It would be up to guys like Cobra to make the final call someday if an "expansion pack" would be worth doing to cover man-hours and art time to fully implement a PTID if 100% of everything needed suddenly was made available.

What exactly do you want Grumman to do?

Obviously they want them to " get in touch of tomcat ahead than any one else"

I asked to give them a chance to sound less ridiculous.

The F14 is retired, N - G is a multi billion dollar company.  I doubt it's a major or high priority for them *at all* to make sure video game players get ANOTHER F14 version besides the three we soon will have.
