HitchHikingFlatlander Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 At either price I think the device is worth the cash. Free track or TIR is must have for simming IMO. http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
Boberro Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I will do my Freetrack again, if results will be same as before I'll go buy TIR. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Vekkinho Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Decrease is possible 'cause I believe TIR is out of production! I heard that Natural point is about to release a succesor of TIR but not a TIR5! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RedTiger Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 The result is not the same Track IR is far better... for ttime spend to built your own and results go and get TRACK IR 4 or 3 with vectors. QFT. I'm not overly mechanically inclined, but I'd gladly pay $200 for the hassle of getting an IR head-tracker pre-built. I'm also under the opinion that FreeTrack will not work as well as TIR with the vector improvement, especially since sims are specifically developed to use that hardware. But whatever works for you. Anything is better than padlocks and hat switches. :)
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I've heard from many that have gotten Freetrack to work pretty much flawlessly, it just requires more time and effort. For those that build pits and custom controls I think Freetrack is a good way to save money but its for tinkerers. But then there is TIR if you have the money and dont want the hassle. It just comes down to personal needs. But I will say I'm not throwing out my TIR and if it broke I'd buy another in a heartbeat! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
