Coastiejeff Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Love the map. It appears that the RADAR Alt in the Huey (and maybe others?) is reading through the water. I learned to SCUBA in Guam back in the late 80's, and yes, the water is super clear, but I don't the RADAR alt should read through it? Thanks again.
Recoil16 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 I can't seem to replicate this, can you attach a track? 1 Everybody said: "That's impossible!" Coastiejeff Posted July 4, 2021 Author Posted July 4, 2021 (edited) I've noticed if off shore where my RAlt was reading 650 and the altimeter was reading 500. Also as I'm low approaching the shoreline in a hover for landing, the RAlt will read something like 10 ft and as soon as I cross the beach from the water I'll catch a skid even though the RAlt says I should have enough Alt. Recoil16 Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Again, I'm not seeing this behavior, for me the radar altimeter seems to indicate correctly, I've now tried in multiple different locations. Without a track this will be hard to diagnose. Everybody said: "That's impossible!" Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it.
