UlLIN44 Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 I am resetting Windows 10 after copying my DCS 2.7 to an SSD. A few questions: Must I close my registry, that is de-activate my installed modules? I would remove the SSD with DCS before resetting Windows. Could I restore my desktop DCS logo/link to the saved game on drive D? Would I be better off just deactivating my modules, resetting windows and then downloading DCS 2.7 again?
Flappie Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 Hey. No need to deactivate your modules nor playing with your registry. Backup your "Saved Games\DCS..." folders (very important if you want to get your custom controls back). Remove your DCS SSD if you want to (not sure W10 would do any harm to it). Reset W10. In case it gets deleted (but I doubt it), restore your "Saved Games\DCS..." folder. Plug back your DCS SSD: the game will work right away when launching the "\DCS World...\bin\DCS_updater.exe" executable. Add a shortcut to this executable file anywhere you like, and change its icon: browse to "\DCS World...\FUI" and chose an icon. 2 ---
