For new and casual players, the instant missions are essential.

 

Remember how complex the mission editor looked when you first tried it? Compare that to a single click to start a mission.

Merely spawning a hot started jet on ground and in air for each terrain is a help to new players.

But with a self made mission there us much less to explore because you know everything that is there and what it will do.

The NTTR has Instant Action missions for the AV-8B.  Or was I dreaming that?
