Lt_Jaeger Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 (edited) Standard CAP turns crazy. Case iii at the end spices things up, stupid Hornet did throw me off, so it ended almost in a big ball of fire. In the beginning of the mission I had some serious stutters. I believe they resulted from clearing out all caches / shades and stuff before I started DCS, so everything needed to get rebuild. Lt_Jaeger Posted July 17, 2021 Author Posted July 17, 2021 Yeah...had a very hard time to see that darn thing....in VR it is pretty easy to hit the water...so yes, that was unsafe and close too I don't know what happened during the 2nd approach.... suddenly everything got haywire, and I was realllllly close to be a fireball. I liked the way you set up the mission, I love to fly wing...if just the AI would be more predictable in her turning.
Reflected Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 I also enjoy flying wing, but the AI is super hard to follow with its erratic turns, superhuman acceleration and deceleration... It would have been easier to find the boat if you used your HSI in steerpoint mode, set to 'surface target', then used PAL in air to air mode so that you can lock the speedboat and the diamond highlights it on your HUD.
