Brightness of HMD... can anyone help increase it?

Looking for some help...

 

I'm flying in VR and when I use the HMD, I can't see the HMD against the clouds (that are white).

Its completely washed out.  I'm flying on GS server for reference. 

I have lowered the gamma set to 1.0.  Its better, but the ground now is very dark and hard to see depth.

I have it on days and increased the brightness to max.

 

I'm stuck on what to do,

 

Is there a mod or way to edit the lua to increase the brightness or reduce the overall clouds?

Do you have the HMD set to one eye (default and realistic is right I believe) or both? I am strongly left eye dominant and the JHMCS is all but invisible for me unless active on my left (or preferably both) eyes.

JHMCS would be over the pilot's dominant eye.

You can increase the brightness by altering the RGBA value in the materials.lua file, located at \DCS World\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\Scripts\.

Look for HMD and you'll come across the correct line. You'll have four numbers, for R, G, B and A (opacity). You can increase opacity (or any of the others too) above 255 and it'll essentially make the HMD brighter.

I got to the HMD part.. after searching for the line, I couldn't find the right one... there are so many that relate to HMD.

Could you please let me know which one it is.
