saburo_cz Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Now the booster pumps inside the main and the auxiliary fuel tanks are switched this way in DCSW. Switch On el. power. Or connect external GPU. Turn the fuel selector valve to desired fuel tank and turn slightly clockwise the booster pump emergency rheostat from fully counterclockwise position. To switch On booster pump requires to turn the booster pump emergency rheostat roughly 5 pct from its range. When is booster pump On, the lowest fuel pressure is from 5 to 7 PSI, depends on the fuel tank and power source, battery or external. The maximal fuel pressure is above 30 PSI with the booster pump emergency rheostat in full clockwise position. This procedure does not seem to be correct. One manual for the P-47 is quite clear in this, the booster pump emergency rheostat does not have Off position. So, when is the booster pump emergency rheostat in full counterclockwise position (Off in DCSW), the booster pump must be running on idle and fuel pressure should be 7 PSI (according to the manual for the P-47). The description of this is not perfect in any manuals unfortunately. But it seems that available range of fuel pressure provided by booster pumps was from 7 to 17 PSI. Max. pressure 30+ PSI like is now in DCSW seems to be too much. How it works in DCSW now is visible in track which is included. the booster pumps.trk F6F P-51D | P-47D | Mosquito FB Mk VI | Spitfire | Fw 190D | Fw 190A | Bf 109K | WWII Assets Pack Normandy 2 | The Channel | Sinai | Syria | PG | NTTR | South Atlantic F-4E | F-14A/B | F-15E | F/A-18 | F-86 | F-16C | A-10C | FC-3 | CA | SC |

saburo_cz Posted July 28, 2021 Author Posted July 28, 2021 Pilot`s flight operating instruction for army models P-47D-25, - ... AN 01-65BC-1A and Pilot training manual for the Tunderbolt ... AAF manual No.50-5 Both are not very clear, but in both is written that the booster pumps are switched On automatically by rotary switch mounted on the selector valve control shaft. And the rheostat contrlos their speed, nothing about On/Off steps. The most clear is the old one, Pilot`s flight operating instruction P-47B,C,D and G Airplanes, ... AN 01-65BC where is this Well, 17 PSI is max value for R-2800-21, and it is not our case, my mystake. The last note, one Youtube video P-47 Thunderbolt Wicked Wabbit helmet cam is useful too.
