Carbon715 Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 hey everyone, I'm very new to the a10c in general. I set up contacted tower, set up tacan 67x and ILS 111.50 for rwy 07 which was active according to atc. I got tacan indications but did not get ILS tone nor needles...also set up a course of 064 degs mag. No glidepath or loc needles. Ils was turned on with a right click and I did set it on the center console for nav (forgot the name, still learning it). I tried to do some research before posting and seen mention it was reported, then fixed, broke, fixed etc. Just seeing current status as of july 2021..not sure if this is an airfield specific/region thing or not as I rann out of time tonight. a10c2 no ils kobleti.trk
Yurgon Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 (edited) I wish they just activated all the ILS stations unconditionally, until such a time that they become player controllable. You're right, in this mission Kobuleti ILS seems to be off. I slightly changed the mission to increase the wind speed, and the ILS is now on. Can you try again with the attached mission? On another note, and I don't mean to step on your toes, but... man, it's a miracle you didn't crash. Seriously, though. Stabilize the jet. Get it to fly wings level and trim it to stay that way. Then, and only after the jet is already flying an almost perfectly steady path hands-free, switch on the autopilot (ALT/HDG) to make sure it doesn't do anything funky (and listen for the "autopilot" annunciation; if you hear that, the autopilot just switched itself off and your immediate attention is required; this shouldn't happen, but always be prepared for it). And only after all of that is done is it okay for you to go heads down and start flipping switches and rotating dials. Otherwise, and I know this is just a game and we get unlimited retries, but otherwise you'll just add yourself to the long list of pilots who flew a perfectly good aircraft straight into the ground for no good reason. It was definitely awful flying for sure but time was limited when I did the track. On a side note I have been spoiled with fbw of the hornet and viper...I would have ended after ils was still not working but decided to practice landing it and quit...still working out curves in it for rudder and brakes . Thanks though!
