I’ve noticed something I find a bit strange with motion reprojection coming from oculus’s asw and was hoping someone could tell me if it’s normal or not.

When having MR Enabled as opposed to Always On I’m getting judders when strangely the fps is going above 45fps. For example I’ll get the judders, look at fpsvr and it’s jumping from 45 to 53. This seems odd to me, with my rift S it would be 40fps with asw enabled unless it went below that or hit 80fps.

In the same mission with MR Always On it will just stay at 45 or dip below but it won’t go above till 90.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Pretty much normal, force it at 45.

The issue, is that the motion smoothing algorithm seems to have some “broad tolerances” so as you get close to 11ms it seems to try and flip you in one direction or the other… fails and you drop out of motion smoothing.

Thanks for the info, Im going to try that FSR thing when I get a chance, see if that can keep me out of the wibble wobbles.

I never thought I’d say this but, Facebook does it better.

It really is device dependent also. HP Reverb G2 Steam's Motion Smoothing does quite well with it.

Yeah that’s what I’m using, I don’t want to repeat what I said earlier in case I get struck by lightning hehe.

It’s interesting where the wobble (as I call it) from asw or mr appear, for me in the Hornet in the G2 I get wobbly radar (top bit of the ddi) and also on the HUD which makes it quite hard to ignore, in the F16 it’s a lot less noticeable. And strangely enough in my Rift S it’s the complete opposite! Really noticeable on the f16s mfd buttons and HUD but barley notice it at all in the f18.
