192nd_Erdem Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I wonder why they used an Iran map to "demonstrate" the capabilities of both aircraft. Great documents though.
tflash Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Well, at least the people behind these reports are not confounding the F-35 and the F-22, that is for sure. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RvETito Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I wonder why they used an Iran map to "demonstrate" the capabilities of both aircraft. Don't wonder... "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=
Airway Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Thanks for the link, Groove So, what I can guess when I read that doc is: What is the F-35 for if the 22 is so much better? The UK for example, is turning away from the F-35 project every day more and more.
GGTharos Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 The F-35 has better A2G capability - in other words, it can fulfill more roles, and it is cheaper to maintain as well. F-22's were made to rule the airspace, and they're very good at it; their options for hitting ground targets are a little more limited however.
