Schrute, Paper Sales Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 I was trying to figure out why the harrier is bitch'n at me every time I turn off the AFC. Unless I'm mistaken, I think the reason is in the update... Added: AFC Advisory will trigger when AFC Alt Hold forced or commanded off, will clear on master caution reset command Added: AFC Advisory will trigger when AFC forced off or commanded off, will clear when AFC reset is commanded My question is, why is this a thing? Why must the master caution go off whenever the autopilot is turned off? I'm using the same "A" button and keybind as before. 1
Truthkeeper Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 My guess is because the warning can advise the pilot if the plane starts pointing somewhere else (like towards the ground) when you are looking somewhere else (like taking notes or using one mfd). However it's quite a PITA... 1
jacobs Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 I think it's like this now because the pilot my turn AFC off either by turning the switch off, or by exceeding joystick pressure (30% movement I think) while AFC is on. Therefore, the warning... IMHO this warning makes makes sense when you turn AFC off while maneuvering with AFC on... but it's a bit dumb when you manually turn it off with the switch. But if it's like that IRL, than it's ok for me. 1
sun4eg Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I believe she stops bitchin if you click AFC trigger down position (AFC Reset or somewhat like this) - advisory light goes off as well.
Longiron Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Just change your key bind for afc. New bind is afc toggle. When you toggle afc off it also trips the reset.
