cannot reproduce Higgins Boats Don't Explode or Disappear

I've set up a mission for Bf-109s to bomb Higgins boats (which they do successfully), however upon destruction there is no fire or smoke and the boat is still there untouched, however the unit disappears off the F10 map. Examples below:
