I'm making a mission were some German torpedo bombers are attacking some allied ships.

 

I have 3 flights of spitfires to deal with them. 1 to deal with the fighter escort and two to deal with the bombers. However the the flights tasked with the bombers start to deal with the fighters instead. 

 

Is the correct command in this situation to add that they should not react to threats?

 

Also is it possible to add a unit as client that is flown by the AI if you don't fly it?

 

I want to be able to choose between the fighter interceptor flight and one of the flights that attack the bombers. However if one of the flights is client it will not show up if you don't play it. I want the unit to be piloted by AI if I choose the other unit.

For the issue of your group not attacking the defined target, what happens is that "CAP" task is taking priority over "engage group", whatever the position in "wrapped actions". What you can do is deleting the advanced "cap" task on first wpt, and reactivating it with "triggered actions" when your target defined by "engage group" is destroyed. Example attached.

 

For the AI to replace unused client slot, you can use a late activation unit/group that will activate under conditions : T>1sec + unused client unit/group destroyed. Just copy/paste each group that contain a client slot (click on it, press Ctrl+C, click elsewhere on the map, press Ctrl+V, then on the new group change client for AI skill and set "late activation" - group will be identical with wpts and actions). Example attached.
