curious to see what is the functionality of the the "center" command for the 9M113 for the copilot/ gunner control mappings.

so far mapping that command to a joystick button or keyboard allows you to put the red arrow back to center in the aiming station when the red arrow is away from center.

note that when i control the slew with my joystick which also move the red arrow away from center to get slew / movement of the aiming station monocle...

how ever, when i use the 'center' command during slewing, the red arrow would return to center, how ever the slewing still continues...

so it leaves me to make this thread.. what is the centering function used for?

is there a boresight? im wondering how the real life 9M113 aiming station operation is really like..

I think it centers sight slew rates and not for boresight sight itself. You can observe this if you enable red arrow helper.

it works on the red arrow helper it self. how ever, i find that it isnt affecting the slew at all.

i can make a high deflection slew with the joystick to have the monocle pan fast along with the red arrow far from center, as soon activate the center command, the red arrow returns to center, but the monocle continues to pan fast...

Wait, if you are using joystick as an axis, why do you need centering command? Just let go of stick (assuming it has centering spring).
