VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 People say the FPS counter inside DCS is, hummm, not very accurate, and I don't have access to fpsVR when I am not flying via SteamVR. So what other options do I have? I Fly, Therefore I Am. One cannot go around not saying "Thank you" every time these days, can't you? YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc9BDi-STaqgWsjNiHbW0fA
speed-of-heat Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 its not that its inaccurate, its just not a useful measure ... the advantage that fpsVR gives you is the ability to differentiate between CPU and GPU frametime, and therefore understand what you need to tune. the other mechanisms such as the frametime viewable in steamvr is an aggregate number AFAIK. I'm not aware of another useful alternative. fpsVR costs very little ... its worth it if you are into tuning the game. I would also add no matter the mechanism you need to turn motion smoothing off to accurately measure performance.
