  1. Virginia Military Aviation museum is an awesome place. I'll just add these.
  2. So a friend of mine recently sent me a video by Spudknocker that proposes a simple fix for stutter in DCS 2.9 related to Windows Defender. I'll link it below. Just for the record I have tried what he suggests and there appears to be improvements in game/stutter. The TLDR for the video is to make some scan exemptions for Windows Defender related to DCS. I also included an exception for my Steam folder because I have an Index and wanted to include SteamVR in his solution. As always YMMV.
  3. This a nice guide to reposition you position in the cockpit. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/138434-boxxmanns-tips-adjust-seateyepoint-with-vr
  4. Try this out to set you default seating positions. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/138434-boxxmanns-tips-adjust-seateyepoint-with-vr
  5. Just throwing in my input here as well. After a bunch of testing and multiple setting changes and iterations of settings (with restarting the sim in between each time). I've decide to stick with MSAA. I was seeing a mild performance increase using DLAA, but the image quality was much worse. Overall less clear , even with Sharpening, and a good deal of stuttering, especially down low over terrain.
  6. Hey Don, We only responded back and forth a few time, but your presence here and on the other sim forums has always been a positive influence. I am not exaggerating when I say that you are one of the few people who I will look to see what you have posted. I'll miss that. Be strong. I will keep you in my thoughts and pray for you.
  7. From the patch notes: Improved “spotting dots” added (WIP): Increased dot size at high resolutions Zoom is not affecting dots size In order to disable new “spotting dots” and revert to previous logic user can put “DotRendererExperiment = False” in autoexec.cfg file located in \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\
  8. I'm still using my Index, so I played around with it a bit. Looks slick, the UI changes are very nice. Performance-wise it's hard to tell if the update helped improve anything or if just placebo effect. There were updates listed to OpenXR on the last SteamVR patch. I feel like Multi-thread performance improved. Less stutters and pauses loading and in game. Over all the last update looks and feels better. I'm also hoping this is the lead-in for a new Valve HMD announcement.
  9. Just watched it as well. So tempting, but rumor mill keeps hinting at an imminent Valve reveal. I'm going to wait a bit longer.
  10. Signed up...can't hurt. Thanks for the heads up.
  11. I am waiting to see what Valve will do next. Still rocking an Index, and I've been super happy with it, but it is starting to show it's age.
  12. This looks great. I'm an Index user and just wondering if this is working with OpenXR in SteamVR or is it only working with OpenVR in SteamVR?
  13. Made a mistake taking the poll. Accidentally clicked OpenXR when I should have picked SteamVR OpenXR. I'm an Index user.
  14. Thank uou got taking the time to respond to thus thread. Please take a look at this thread with all of the other pilots as well.
  15. I too was a bit baffled when I went looking for it and found it moved again.
  16. Make sure you are logged into your account and it will see if you own Normandy 1.0 and/or Channel.
  17. @BIGNEWY @NineLine I'm also getting this warning. Should we proceed with the upgrade purchase?
  18. Glad to hear. May I ask why you want to use Open Kneeboard as opposed to Kneeboard Builder? I'm asking because I have used neither, but I'm about to start playing with a custom kneeboard and would love to have your opinion on both.
  19. You are very welcome. Glad I could help.
  20. Chuck's may have some sort of copy protection. I'm not at home, but I'm curious as to what might happen if you tried opening it in Word and tried to convert it to a Word document and re-exporting it to pdf. If I get a chance tonight I might download kneeboard builder and take a look.
  21. Is that slide from Chuck's Spitfire Guide? If it is, might I suggest an experiment? Type up a text only document using a standard font link Currier or Ariel in Word and export it as a pdf. Then try importing that pdf into kneeboard maker.
  22. Don you typed up that kneeboard correct? What font are you using?
