DmitriKozlowsky Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 Are AI optically guided SAM , AAA, and MANPADs units affected by low viz? If the AI threat air defense has no radar, just MK1 optics, and IR sensor, are they affected by low viz conditions. HQ7 launcher, without HQ7 radar, can still engage optically. I hope its ability to find and engage during low viz conditions is degraded. I cant really tell.
Exorcet Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 I remember a problem where optical weapons would not engage at all in the middle of the night, presumably due to low visibility, so I think this is modeled. The new cloud model is also planned to affect AI vision at some point, but currently they are invisible to the AI. Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
DmitriKozlowsky Posted September 5, 2021 Author Posted September 5, 2021 So night affects AI units with MK1 and IR, but clouds do not. So much for my plans to hide in low hanging cloud.
M1Combat Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Kind of a side note :)... Mk1 is an eyeball. Any optical tracking other than that will be Mk2 at the least ;). Nvidia RTX3080 (HP Reverb), AMD 3800x Asus Prime X570P, 64GB G-Skill RipJaw 3600 Saitek X-65F and Fanatec Club-Sport Pedals (Using VJoy and Gremlin to remap Throttle and Clutch into a Rudder axis)
razo+r Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Clouds affecting sensors is planned, but god knows when will we see it. 1
