Can the real aircraft do that? I spent some time ad an avionics tech in the airlines. I know all kinds of DL stuff that's possible. But I've never seen a function to send over a whole route, and have it automatically load. For sure you can text the GPS coordinates over. But I always had to manually enter them into the FMS. Now should the Data cartridge be able to have a share to flight function differently. DCS isn't really set up to have you be anything other then the flight lead. So it's probably not been thought about.

I'm not talking about magical transfer between aircrafts via Datalink. (F16, F18 can share waypoint, markpoints etc).

My usecase:
A online squadron has a mission night. Mission builder sets the stage, the flight leads will make the planning.
Now the flight leads plan their flights. Fills the Mission Data Cards for everybody. All this is happening before any pilots even open DCS.

At the moment there are two options:
- Mission Builder puts in the work to place down the waypoint for each flight
- The squadron looses 15 minute of the mission time because all pilots have to type in X-Amount of waypoints

IRL the pilots just have their datacards with their regular flightplan loaded. This is what I would like to have.
The M2000c now provides this possibilities. The Viggen has a similiar system in place since years. When do the rest get this option?

Maybe on fighters they have prepared waypoints. But on the aircraft I maintained they imput all that <profanity> on the FMS. What your basically talking about is a distributable data cartridge. So it can be pre set, and "issued" to each flight member. Which is reasonable.

Thanks, but thats basicly the point of this Topic, isnt it?
The DTC (Data Transfer Cartridge) and Mission Planner, which is in the works since like... ever. And we only saw a small "preview" years ago.
Basicly what the OP of this topic said in the first sentence. And I posted this link already, where you replied with a Push... 😉

I just wanted to draw your attention to the quote  🙂

Цитата:
We have one encompassing feature that requires cooperation between the F/A-18C and F-16C Team, the DCS Core Team, and 3rd Party Developers: create a shared planning environment and agree on a single strategy to support mission planning for many aircraft types. This includes an Aircraft Setup Card in Options and a Mission Planning Card for waypoints with properties (Sequences, Target Points, Pre-Planned Targets, Pre-Briefed Targets, Initial Points, Bullseyes, etc.) and MUMI and similar pages. This is a complex task that we have been designing, and we will be working with all participants to create the best Aircraft Setup and Mission Planner possible.

Oops. Thanks pointing that out.missed that quote. 👍

At least it looks like all devs will use the same format, thats good. Curious if the M2000c is the first iteration of this system or just a stopgap?
