If an AI Harrier has a gun fitted then it seems to fire a single round at a target (tested on a CAS mission with bombs fitted)...this is a bit of a nuisance but not critical

FARP operations though are critical....and they simply dont work.

An AI Harrier wil take off form a FARP but then fly backwards until it crashes...and it's engines are not turning. As for landing at a FARP the editor simply does not allow it.

Also there is no STO form the AI.

I love the Harrier...but there is simply no point using it from a FARP when there is no realistic way to have other AI Harriers.

I agree that FARP ops should not be used with Harrier, except as emergency divert.

FARP , unless placed on road or decommissioned runway, may allow Harrier to land using VTOL, but a rearmed refueled AV-8B cannot VTOL from FARP due to gross weight limits. Short T/O run , up to 90 knots IAS, is needed.

If Harrier, critical on fuel, and no munitions except AIM-9M X2 and gunpod refuel to 1100 pounds or less of fuel, then VTOL is possible. With water injection and emergency combat power. That maybe the safest VTOL from unimproved FARP surface. Aircraft is burning fuel and using water at precipitous rate, reducing aircraft gross weight on a by second basis.
