Hawkeye91 Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 After touching down and decelerating I'd say as it slows through 200kph the nose gear begins to shimmy back and forth. It didn't use to do this the last time I started flying the Fishbed.
Airhunter Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Yeah this has been an issue for quite a while now - you even get some light shimmy on takeoff sometimes.
Lixma 06 Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Was about to post a thread on this. I tried using the nose brake lever but it had no effect.
Cgjunk2 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 The nosewheel shimmy is an actual thing that happens on this airplane in real life, if I recall correctly. In fact, I think it tends to happen with a much higher frequency than the slow side to side sway that’s modeled. The shimmy oscillation frequency on DCS might be limited by the sim itself though. At least it seems to happen and go away under expected circumstances. Lots of planes with castoring wheels will shimmy. Even if it’s an oleo strut wheel, they can shimmy .
