I like that I can use my Cougar stick with it.

But man it's expensive.

Is it really worth that kind d of cash? How could I use it with my Cougar throttle?

Yep. They sell high-end military sim gear mostly to the professional sectors. The FSSB price isn’t too bad considering the professional version would cost 2,500 Euro.

I don’t have the Cougar but you can buy an adapter from them (or other vendors) to connect the throttle directly to the PC.

So I would need to use the TUSBA.  Ok - good to know since that'd add another $80e.  lol

Yeah - 450e is $522 USD.  That's...  Wow.

Woof.

Just checked their other stuff - $6ke for like as close to a licensed replica as you can get.  Wow.  That better be some insane stuff!

Their pro stuff just has milspec switches and a commercial license. Home stuff is just fine for us.

Just so you know. There are alternatives to the TUSBA, might not be less expensive, but way better. IMHO.
There are other options for the base too. But I have a feeling the RealSim software might be pretty superior.

Tusba is pretty basic functionality-wise and was designed a long time ago... If you're into DIY, there are plenty of options to convert the cougar to magnetic sensors and advanced controller.

The original Cougar TQS still has analog POTs, so if I understand the TUSBA correctly, it just converts an analog "gameport" (with all it's spikes) to a digital USB compatible signal. You can find real conversion kits that makes it a true contactless true USB device. All in about minutes, depending on your thumbs.
For the stick/grip, you can do the same, but why, when RealSim has a great option.
But like I wrote. They are not alone, but software wise, they might lead.
But I'm holding out for alternatives, for my own reasons.

Yup, I would wait a few months to see what is in development and who will deliver the best throttle.

Ouch! Yes, that is my problem.
There won't be any stick/throttle to rule'm all.

Great if it's nice and all, but something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg would be great too.

Nah! I've watched you're video.
Unless you get a throttle that can alternate between linear and pivoting that is! Haha
And I'd want one more thing as well, but that's just me.
But I'd say the new RealSim F-35 throttle looks sweet, I'd wager it's not for me.

Don't think that's possible. Sorry!

I have a TMWH HOTAS. The stick has always had a little twist slop even though the metal nut was tight. I assume this is slop with metal pin in slot that is too wide.

Does anyone have this stick mounted in the FSSB base? If yes, is there some slop in the twist for you or is it tight?

I never had any twist on my TMWH, but after getting FSSB + angle adapter and using WH stick on it, it did have a little 'pop' where it would slightly shift when crossing the vertical center. Tightened the heck out of it, tried shims, tried a second WH stick... not sure if it was the WH attachment mechanism or the RealSim angle adapter that was the root of it.

Ended up getting the RealSim F16 grip, and really like it over the WH for the FSSB. The attachment mechanism is way better than the WH. Plus all the buttons/hats are 5-way hats, and that opened up my input config options beyond what the WH could offer.

Thanks @Munkwolf. When you use this device with DCS, is it necessary to run the software or is the software only ran as needed to config?

You're welcome. Only need to run software for config

One more question.

I have a butt kicker thing on my cockpit that makes vibrating effects when flying. Does anyone think this could cause the FSSB device to fail prematurely? I sent a email to real simulator but didn’t get a response.

I don’t have a buttkicker but have been using a jetseat device without any issue. My FSSB is at least 3-4 years old now.

It’s designed to take some beating but not superstrong at the connection point, constant vibration is fine but long term use of excessive force is probably not a good idea. My advice is not to set the resistance force in setting beyond max limit (lower if you can) if you want a long lasting device.

The CEO is an older guy who reminds me of a typical college/med school professor rather than a savvy businessman.  He is very very knowledgeable when it comes to jets and engineering and that’s why we click so much.  If he doesn’t answer a mail it is probably because he is in his labs brainstorming stuff.
