Is there a way to use VAICOM/AIRIO while still having the jester wheel functioning as normal?

As the title suggest.

I love AIRIO and it solves 90% of my needs in regards to Jester, however, sometimes it would be very nice to have the normal wheel with the normal functions as a supplement (I can't understand why it is disabled).

YES- I know I have the 'Jester options' option, but I strongly dislike that it removes the cockpit and I also don't love using voice commands to move through menus.

Having AIRIO as well as a functional standard Jester wheel would literally be the best of both worlds.

As Hollywood started, this is an unwanted state, but someone figured it out, but I can't find the post. 

 

So here the essence :

I could do the mission with VAICOM AIRIO and the HB Jester wheel. Whoever wants to try it...

1) VA / VAICOM OFF  

2.) Start DCS

3.) Start Mission

4.) As soon as in cockpit - start VA/VAICOM

5.) maybe map a button for the A key.

 

Anyhow...this way I had the complete AIRIO  capability AND the Jester wheel for all the new, shiny Lantirn stuff. Worked like a charm.

 

Just in case.

Starting a new mission, restarting the current one, resets this behavior and jester wheel gets disabled, so dcs has to be closed and then add above.

I haven't tested this, and I'm not a very prolific user of the Cat, too many other modules.
But if I IIRC/understand it correctly, it seems that things can get out of sync, like the comms sometimes does.
Has anyone tested this solution extensively?
Because, if there aren't really any drawbacks to this, at least none of you have mentioned it. Huh, well?

I just did one ride in SP, which worked fine (the Lantirn training mission).

I returned to normal ops (vaicom only) though, and will wait for the AIRIO patch.

I tried this hack in couple of SP missions - jester wheel was working fine, but comms seemed to be messed up - I was not able to communicate with ATC via Vaicom, only game menu. Though I'm not too sure if it was hack's fault or just me - I'm relatively new user of plugin and learning the ropes - there's pretty big chance I messed up something.

If it is technically possible to have original wheel and use AIRIO - why not to add such option? Looks like many users would like to use HB wheel from time to time (especially waiting for new functions to be added to the plugin). Even having wheel blinking for fraction of a second why using voice commands is more than acceptable to my mind. What is not acceptable - having pretty much hacky hardcoded wheel which makes the whole plane to disappear. I believe it would be more than even trade.

My solution, although not the greatest, is to use Viacom without the F14 addition, but also use Bailey's F14 voice attack profile.  I get most of the benefits of Viacom and with Bailey's profile, I get the Jester wheel that I can use either by voice command or by the middle mouse button.

I literally don’t care what Hollywood’s opinion on this; taking choice away from users is a crappy move. Make it default to hide the in-game radial menu, sure, but give your customers the damn option to put it back.
