Hiob Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Hello fellow pilots, recently I have a little bit of trouble with Afterburner. The first sign noticed was, that my saved profiles were gone. Used a certain profile (undervolting) since ages and suddenly I noticed while flying in DCS that my clock speed and voltage were off. Checked and my whole profile was gone. No big deal, I set it up again and off I went. But today Afterburner (not DCS related, wasn‘t even running) crashed a couple of time, mostly causing windows to reboot. System was in idle when the crashes occured. I changed nothing special recently. Just common windows security updates (no w11 update) and installed some steam games… Any ideas. Similar observations? Thank you! "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

Bossco82 Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Cant say for sure, check for a new version of MSI Afterburner. Other than that try re-installing Afterburner. When I had my 2080ti I kept losing profiles but it didn't crash. A un-install re-install along side getting rid of the MSI/Riva folders did the trick. It wasn't crashing on idle though.
Hiob Posted November 16, 2021 Author Posted November 16, 2021 Thanks guys, I will do a reinstall. I just hate it when I don't find a definitiv cause for random failures. "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
BitMaster Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Don't forget Riva Statistics part of MSI Afterburner. Best to deinstall both, reboot and install the newest one again, reboot and it should work. Never had any issues with it tbh. I somehow see them as one unit, so I didn't mentioned it explicitly. I will re-install both! "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

I already reinstalled the bundle of Afterburner/Riva and it seem to work fine atm. I believe the reason for my problems was a corrupt file. Why it was corrupted - I have no clue. May be an issue of sectors of the SSD (not too old though) or an untimely shutdown or whatever... 1 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
