Q to ED: How many copies sold of DCS and LOFC ?

Hi,

 

I was asking myself how many copies of DCS ED already sold online.

Do you have any sales figures?

 

And how many copies of Flaming Cliffs was sold by ED ?

 

 

I just want to know how big the community is.... And I like statistics ;-)

i didn't ask how many copies they sold for military training - i asked for the enduser product

but it's not something we should worry about nor does it show actual DCS community members number!

 

Remember there's always folks who buy the product and find it too difficult to master. Perhaps the learning curve seems to steep to bother for some! There's lots of Flash games around to satisfy those folks!

Some of them don't turn up on related forums, ask & answer questions nor they contribute and participate with constructive feedback. So they can't actually be considered as a part of the community rather as a wanderers and rovers trying to determine their true interests in life!

Sales figures are commercially sensitive in most organisations. I would imagine ED to be no different.

Correct. ED AFAIK considers its sales figures a trade secret and will not provide them.

Of course ED won't share those figures with us and with the rest of the world but neither would I if I had any product to trade.

 

But like I said that's not something we should worry about, with a pretty cheap price of products bought from ED (remember FC was cca US$12 and IIRC DCS:BS price is similar) I believe lots of copies will be distributed worldwide.

 

However, announced price of the same product in Europe average at 40€.

 

I do not wish to advertise on anyone in terms of where to buy from here but if you're low on budget you should do some research!

Sales figures are usually only released when they hit a milestone, ie: over 1 million copies sold. DCS wont be selling that many copies so I doubt any figures will be released.

Well what ever the Number Hopefully they will Continur Releasing Future Installements of the DSC Series??

 

I had bought the Russian Version just to get a look and will Also buy the Western Version also to support these Guys.. DSC:BS is Simply amazing ;)
