MurrayCod Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 Hi everyone, A mate has the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle, but only one of the the two physical throttle axes on the unit is being recognised in DCS. Does anyone know of this issue, and a possible solution? In the Miscellaneous Options, he has already unchecked the box Synchronise Cockpit Controls with HOTAS controls at Mission Start
LeCuvier Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 The option "Synchronise Cockpit Controls ..." is nothing to do with that issue. I would suspect there is a problem with the throttle device. Have you tested it in Windows "Devices and Printers"? Do both axes show movement? CBStu Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 As a quick check does he have the throttle bindings in 'Controls' - 'Axis Commands' - 'Thrust Left' and 'Thrust Right'? Just above 'Thrust Right' and 'Thrust Left' there is a 'Thrust'. I imagine that would be for a single lever used to control both engines.
Razor18 Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 (edited) Yup, on the Control Options / F-18C Sim, in the drop down menu select Axis commands, in the "Left Throttle" line in the TM Warthog Throttle column he should read Joy_RZ, and in the "Right Throttle" line it should read Joy_Z. LeCuvier Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 You guys are sharp! Yes, the default bindig is for a single slider driving the thrust for both engines. So maybe the guy has not replaced the default bindings with the desired one? dingo007 Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 I am the person Murray is talking about. Until recently both throttles were working ok. I programmed the throttles through the axis commands from the beginning. I bind both throttles separately. Can calibrate both throttles in Windows10. I have also changed USB port. Also it is not just the F18 but all multi engine aircraft I own including those in Flaming Cliffs 3. I am at a loss has to what it may be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
rob10 Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 (edited) Does it allow you to bind BOTH of the axis but doesn't work when you get into the plane (presuming so from what you wrote, but wanted to confirm)? (check if you're binding in SIM and flying in GAME mode or vice versa) Are you/have you used any controller software that might be combining them even though you're not meaning to (i.e. TARGET, VJoy/Joystick gremlin)? MurrayCod Posted December 11, 2021 Author Posted December 11, 2021 Thanks for the suggestions everyone. It is greatly appreciated. I have passed them on, so hopefully when he is back in front of the PC he can get it working correctly.
