Can anyone tell me if there is an autopilot engaged indication, i.e., light, lever or anything, that tells me that the autopilot is on?

If so, where is it? I have looked all over the cockpit of the F15C and can't find any indication that the autopilot is on/off.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

F-15

nothing as far as I am aware.

A-10

Autopilot - HUD lower left, also rectangular green indicator below FIRE <R ENG> PULL

Alt hold - HUD lower left

MiG-29

Left of landing gear / flaps status is a panel of 6 square buttons each has a small green light.

Autopilot - Lower left button marked AN

Alt Hold - Upper right button marked (approx) CTAB BbIC

Su-25

If a/c is neutrally trimmed when autopilot engaged, then trim lights go out (bottom row rightmost 3 green indicators) Other than that no indications as far as I am aware.

Su-27/33

Above Radar Warning Receiver are 3 columns of rectangular indicators, a left column of 6, then middle of 5 and then right of 2.

Autopilot - bottom of left column lights up green AN and bottom of middle column lights green with ABTO.

Alt hold - 2nd from bottom left column lights green with (approx) NPNBEA KrOPN3

Speed hold - bottom of middle column lights green with ABTO.

The F15 (in game) doesn't have indicators for speedbrake, autopilot, altitude hold or speed hold.

There is an indicator for speedbrake.

Look at the very top little corner of the 'damage' panel on the right side of the cockpit (where you get the 'afterburner' 'fuel low' 'most of your plane doesn't work' red lights) and open and close the brake.

Well that's where it is in the real F-15 so I've got no probs.

Although why they have no auto-flight control lights in the Eagle is beyond me!

Unfortunately, no indicators. But, there are some things you can quickly do on the fly to determine if AP is set.

1. Switch to NAV Mode

2. Change Waypoint using the ~ key.

As you cycle through the WP's your plane will change course to intercept the new course if AP is active. Toggle the A key to toggle AP on or off as desired.

If deactivating, use CTRL-T to reset trim.

When all else fails, Eject then read the manual.

Oh, and a good wingman helps.
