DCS Crashing regularly - usually when starting 2nd mission

Recently, DCS is just crashing to desktop regularly for me.  It seems to be the same situation that I had some time ago, i.e. first mission OK,  but then crashing on the second.

Any ideas?

You seem to have errors caused by your custom Export.lua script. Please rename it so DCS cannot find it, and see if your crashes keep happening.

Thanks, I’ll give that a go when I’m back at my PC. What does the Export.lua file do? What is a custom version generated by?

The custom Export.lua is stored in "Saved Games/DCS.../Scripts".

It is used by many important mods such as Tacview, SRS and DCS-BIOS.

Hmm, I don’t use any of these, and the file in question was created months ago. Only been in the last few days I’ve had the issue. I’ll try your suggestion in a little while.

Then a more efficient test would be to temporarily rename your whole "Saved Games/DCS..." folder (do not delete it, of course). This way, DCS will create a "virgin" folder and you'll be able to know where the issue comes from between your custom DCS files and core DCS files.

OK, so I tried the export.lua route, and that has made no difference. See attached.  Still crashing in every session.

I'll try the rename the Saved Games folder a bit later.  This is weird!

It is important to perform repairs AFTER deleting (renaming) the DCS folder. There is no initial error in your log right now. Yes, there is a bug in the game that can be easily fixed with DCS repair.

We are waiting for new reports dcs.log after crashes.

Do you mean that a bug is fixed after doing a repair?

Ok, so I renamed the Saved Games DCS folder - but I put back in my logbook and Input folders - did a repair, and still crashing every session. See attached.

Any ideas on this?

Yes, this is a mandatory procedure. You removed the cause of the error - your script, and then corrected the changes that were caused by this script in the game.

Try to go back to the previous video driver (472, for example). You can use the DDU utility for this.

Thanks. I'm confused by that though, as I said above, that file had not been changed for months, and the current issue has only started happening a few days ago.  The same export.lua was not causing an issue before.

About to try reverting to a video driver that worked before.

OK, so I reverted to 496.76 which always worked fine, but, still the same crashing EVERY session after 10 minutes or so.  See attached.

What mission are you talking about? Did you create this mission or is it a default mission?

I've been restricting the testing to Viper Training Missions.  Any of the first 6 have the issue.

Different issues leading to a DCS crash... it looks like a RAM issue (see examples here and here).

Thanks again. where are you seeing a memory potential problem in the log file?

I did try memtest running for 30 minutes a couple of days ago.

Give us a couple of days to study your case. Indeed, new errors arise every time. There is indeed a memory error in one of the crashes. Please continue to use automatic sending of crash reports to the ED server. This will allow us to gather more information.

But this is a month-old crash. An error does not mean a faulty memory module. This may mean a delay in the response between the graphics card and the RAM, for example.
