Can’t delete TrackIR from controls, causing problems

Hello all. I have stopped using TrackIR in favor of VR. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to delete it from the controls column. While in-game I repeatedly get an alert that TrackIR is unplugged which causes major stalls in the game. I have uninstalled the app, deleted all TrackIR folders in my users/saved games folders, and deleted the TrackIR folder in program files. I have disabled the TrackIR column in controls and tried rescanning devices in controls. But the problem still occurs repeatedly in-game. Any ideas? Thanks.

I get message like this:

TrackIR unplugged

TrackIR plugged

during the game but they are so rare (once a session or less) and not intrusive that I even did not investigate to do anything with that. I'll see if I can find anythig.

Disable the hotplug function in the controls options. That solved the trackir unplug issue for me. (long ago)

another possible help, that may or may not be connected to disconnect problems in general -

go to the energy management and make sure that usb devices are not allowed to hibernate.

btw. there should be no need to delete any trackir stuff at all to play vr.

I switch between vr and pancake (with trackir) all the time without issues. Just don’t start the trackir application. (don‘t put it in the autostart obviously)

Disabling the Hot Plug function (whatever that is!) did the trick.  Thanks so much for the advice.

Hotplug means (in this case) that you can plug in (or change) devices whilst the game is running. However, that needs the software to constantly check for new devices - which for some reason causes this issue. Downside of turning it off is, that you need your devices sorted before starting the game or restart it if you need to change anything. Since this is very seldom, it's not much of a problem and the best advice is still to keep hotplug off.
