Amarok_73 Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 Is it just me, or the afterburner cut-off switch is not functional? It is not reacting on mouse clicks, nor the mapped keyboard/joystick buttons... Amarok_73 Posted January 3, 2022 Author Posted January 3, 2022 I'd appreciate if anyone could confirm or negate at least my observation. QuiGon Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 I wasn't aware that there even is such a thing in the Viggen Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
renhanxue Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) There isn't, unless he means the detent on the throttle, but then the post makes no sense. I honestly have no idea what you're trying to do or which switch you're interacting with, @Amarok_73. I'd appreciate if you could elaborate. Edited January 4, 2022 by renhanxue
Amarok_73 Posted January 4, 2022 Author Posted January 4, 2022 Hello, thanks for response. That's quite hillarious situation then, but I'll try to elaborate as @renhanxue is asking as good as I can being away from my home computer, and using the screenshot from the Chuck's guide (pages 133, 143). So there is the switch: He have it's controls mapping available with "afterburner" in the name (don'r remember whole name, but it's easy to spot). Around two or three patches ago it was working OK, cutting off the afterburner with both, mapped control and the mouse click on this switch in the cockpit. Now it doesn't react on mouse as well as mapped control. renhanxue Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) Ah okay, it's just a confusion of terminology then, I'd call that switch "afterburner low pressure fuel cocks" (Chuck's guide calling it "manual afterburner fuel regulator" is also confusing, because there is another switch that is actually called that which does something different). I... don't think you're supposed to use that except if the aircraft is on fire, honestly - that entire panel is all switches that are for emergency use only. Still though, if it was modeled and now it isn't then that sounds like a bug to me. I'm not at my gaming PC either though so I can't try to reproduce. I cross-posted to the feedback thread - Machalot has been doing a heroic job of bug reproduction there, maybe they can help. Edited January 4, 2022 by renhanxue
Amarok_73 Posted January 4, 2022 Author Posted January 4, 2022 Thank You @renhanxue. I know that in reality this switch is used in emergency scenarios, but having the throttle without any afterburner detents, use of it is the only way to keep the thrust stable on MIL settings. Thank You for cross-posting this issue into the feedback thread. Maybe we could request an F-14-like afterburner detent for the Viggen. That is, hold-to-push-through. Or do people prefer a toggle like the Viper and Hornet? "Subsonic is below Mach 1, supersonic is up to Mach 5. Above Mach 5 is hypersonic. And reentry from space, well, that's like Mach a lot."
Amarok_73 Posted January 4, 2022 Author Posted January 4, 2022 I preffer to have it bi-stable, but i have nothing against the choice available in mod's special parameters Natural Born Kamikaze ------------------------- AMD Ryzen 5 3600, AMD Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, 32 GB RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX, PSU Modecom Volcano 750W, Virpil Constellation Alpha Prime on Moza AB9 base, Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle, Turtle Beach VelocityOne Rudder.
