Hi,

Running the latest OB (2.7.9.18080). Was flying the rise of the Persian lion campaign again yesterday and noticed that when using SEA mode for the A2G radar many of the larger ships would produce not "bricks" on the radar, furthermore the contacts that did display were incredibly dim almost illegible on the scope. I don't recall having this issue with my previous play through of the campaign and using SEA mode. Has anyone else experienced this? MFD brightness was all the way up, and the sweep itself is bright. I'm in VR, if that's of any consequence.

Regards,

Z

Hi

please include a short track replay example, also let us know what altitude you are at and range the targets are.

thanks

I'll try and get a track sorted however in the mission mentioned the requirement to use Sea mode is about 20 minutes in. In regard to altitude tried at 15K and 1K and the same issue appears. Range wise the contacts were all within circa 15 miles.

Just bare in mind curvature of the earth makes a difference depending on your altitude, if possible recreate with a simple airstart mission just to show us the issue.

thanks

Thanks BN, understood. I think my point was more that the behaviour appears to differ from my experience a couple of months back, and it may well be more accurate now. Let me have a play around and see.

OK, so by way of an update. Just created an air start mission @ angels 10 with 2 x Tankers and 1 x armoured speed boat at 17NM. And they show up in SEA mode fine. I can only guess it was a quirk of my flight profile or first mission post OB update yesterday eve. I'll try and get some time to retry this evening and report back, but it does not seem like a bug.

TBH I don't know, it was Mission 4 (Hammers and Nails) of @Badger633 Rise of the Persian Lion campaign. The units were most certainly active when I was around 10 miles out, as I could see them moving. I'll try and refly tonight and see what happens.

Hi BN

Yes they are delayed units. Always have been. No problems since campaign issue. I will check myself in due course.

Hiya,

Just tried this again, and it does look like it was quite possibly "operator error". They showed up fine this time! I also missed @Badger633 briefing notes where he clearly states that static ships do not show up on the radar in SEA mode, which added to my confusion yesterday. Apologies, please go ahead and close this thread.
