ericinexile Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I've noticed after watching both "Wag's" Producer's notes and BeachAV8r's SimHQ review video's that they have both managed to manipulate their views around the pit very smoothly and precisely. I've tried a bunch of different curve/smoothness/light filter combos within the TrackIR software but the resulting views make me feel like I have Parkinson's Disease. Any advice is appreciated. Maverick-GER- Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 (edited) If working on your profile with curves smoothness and stuff didnt help, try out your precision (standard would be F7) hotkey maybe that will help you. Also if you want to you can check out my track ir profile and see if it fits you http://mavstar.ma.ohost.de/hotas/Black_shark.xml right click on link and save as... ED Team Wags Posted December 3, 2008 ED Team Posted December 3, 2008 Actually, I just use the default profile. I must have a steady neck I suppose ;) Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
Purg Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Mine seems pretty stable, perhaps it's a frame rate issue? What's your FPS when you're panning around the cockpit?
Maverick-GER- Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 @Wags that with the stiff/steady neck happens if you chew on your viagra instead of swallowing it Just kidding 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] F-14 Tomcat Rest in Peace (and hopefully get reborn in DCS!) Legend Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 What also maybe helps is putting the trackIR camera not in the middle of your monitor, but offset to the side where you have your reflection thingies / vector clip - usually to the left.
deltahawk2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I am finding my Track IR works well in dot mode. When in 6DOF it goes erratic. Any pointers on this?
Gary Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I spent a lot of time setting mine up and you eventually get the rewards. Setting deadzones is what worked best for me in the end. My only gripe with it now is that I find it difficult to keep my head still when looking down and clicking switches....have to really concentrate on keeping my head still or risk clicking the switch NEXT to the one I want to!.....not a good idea! ericinexile Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 Actually, I just use the default profile. I must have a steady neck I suppose ;) That did it! My profiles were oriented for games like IL2 where I spend a lot of time quickly checking my six. Fortunately for my neck, the Hokum is a forward hemisphere machine. Agreed - I seem to move my head as I try and move my mouse!

Regards, GarySolution could be making a cursor that will stay where you loose it BUT additionaly mouse cursor should lay on the cockpit panels surface and glue to the switches in theirs proximity (remember we have 6dof). You'll get the effect of hand holding a switch to press it in right moment. Example: on start-up - first you switch "start engine" button, then you set cursor over fuel (?) levers. Than you look at rising RPM and then in right moment you just press LMB to pull the lever while still looking on gauges.
