Fresh
Hello, does anyone know where I can see any form of outside air temperature, SAT, TAT etc. when I'm in the cockpit? I'd like to have an idea when to switch on Pitot Heat, Eng. Heat etc.. Thanks, Fresh
Foka
Switch it on when you get INLET ICE warning.
Solution Wroblowaty Posted January 17, 2022 Solution Share Posted January 17, 2022 On Engine DDI page (SUPT/ENG) you will find "INLET TEMP" row indicating temperature at engine intake. While you are airborne and your pitot heat switch is in AUTO position, pitot, static and AoA probes heating will be automatically on, unless there is a malfuncion of WoW system. For engine heat, as Foka said, you do not need to put it on unless you receive INLET ICE caution or you are about to climb through icing conditions.
Fresh
Thanks guys for your answers! Helps a lot. I thought, there must be a way of knowing how cold it is outside (more or less minus ram rise). I was flying in clouds and thinking, hmmm, is it +10°C or -10°C? Sure, I could look at the mission briefing and note the ground temp and deduce with the lapse rate.. but that is too academic Edited February 5, 2023 by Fresh
