hi, just made a ELINT flight, all went good except the fact that the elint report only showed allied unit because i took off from a zone where there where more than 10 friendly radar so none of the enemy radar was populated, there is a way to not pick up allied radars or start recording signals at a certain time?

Hello Hawkmoon!

Yes, you can put the knob "U22 mode selector" to position A and the knob "U22 bandwith selection" to F.
With that setting, which is a "preheat" mode, the jammer does nothing except warming up.
If you then need recording during flight, simply put the knob from F to any of G, H, J or K. Then it should record silently. After recording you can put it back to F.

don't the viggen uses RWR to do ELINT?

It uses the RWR to receive radar signals from other radars, yes.
The pod himself then analyzes the received signals, and jams them using his own antennas. It is also able to do triangulation to determine the position of an emitter.

And the pod records the data.

"Subsonic is below Mach 1, supersonic is up to Mach 5. Above Mach 5 is hypersonic. And reentry from space, well, that's like Mach a lot."

Not quite. The pod works independend of the RWR. It does have it's own recievers to recieve signals. It doesn't need the RWR for that.
