Thoughts please.  It is messing up VAICOM.

There can be two causes:

A. You changed your release version into an OB version, either through DCS_updater.exe, or through SkateZilla's GUI.

B. You have a dcs_variant.txt file in your main DCS folder.

In any case, here's the solution:

Go to your main DCS folder, create a dcs_variant.txt file if it doesn't exist already. Now open this file and simply write the name you want to see next to "DCS.".

Example: banana will give you Saved Games/DCS.banana

In your case, you just write "openbeta", without quotes.

Hi Flappie,

I too am having trouble after and new install, a saved games dcs open beta file is in my documents folder and not in the normal saved games location, so mod mods work 😞

How do I get it back to where it should be?? Could you please explain how the advise you gave works as I don't understand please ??

Cheers

Locate the folder that was created by the game, and you'll find a "Logs" folder inside it, which will contain a file named "dcs.log" (it may appear as "dcs"). Please attach it so we can study it together.

Hey. I believe Steam never creates a "DCS.openbeta" folder (I'm not sure, because I've been using the standalone from the start). Anyway, putting it in your "Saved Gmaes/DCS" should make it work as expected I guess.

Please note we won't help people installing mods in the present section. Please consult the Mods section. I've found this thread:

That is correct . Been on steam open beta for years. In saved games it is simply DCS, not DCS.openbeta
