Hello all.. i searched the forums but could not see any thread covering this.. i hope i did not miss it :)

What is the best joystick for Black Shark and why.

I've been using a Logitech Force 3D pro, and was happy with it in LO:FC but its being a bit temperamental in BS and is not doing this amazing sim any justice. (seems to have a mind of its own at times :music_whistling: )

So what's the best and why.

Is the lack on Force Feedback in the X52 an issue, as thats what i'm being advised to get.. but i also read about a lot of problems with them.

I'm picking up TrackIR tomorrow and i want a HOTAS to do it and this sim justice... please advise!

Thanks a lot.. :joystick:

Sorry if some of you maybe misunderstanding this post as a advert of my stuff - and he could be maybe partly right...,but

@MadTommy

Please take a visit at my site - and you will see that I had the same questions some years ago... but didn't found anything that 'really' fitted my needs (and my bank account ;) ) .

After I got a beta of BS-last year - I couldn't deny any longer that all the controls that I had didn't made the job right...

Saying this, I don't mean the absolute replica - I just looked for controls that do the job right!

I didn't found them (for the money I was able to spend for it)...(especially a collective) So I changed them first only for myself and than for some of my buddy's...

-and now I do it for everyone! :P.

Please Take special attention to my 'project' site.

there you can see some Ideas about how the perfect home-sim-stick should be.

I don't want to convince someone to buy from me - I'm every time really happy If I see someone in these forums starting also to do something similar for his own!

...and I have some of my best moments if I'm able to inspire someone.:)

Last edit:

And I'm still working on the "Right" controls !

Thanks urze,

I not sure if i'm being dumb... but i cant see any HOTAS/Sticks that you sell.

I see the collective stick and the extension. But i'm not really interested in these.

I am very interested in your MS Sidewinder FFB 2 adaptations, (i tried to find a MS Sidewinder FFB 2 myself but had no joy). What is the deal with these?

That's right I don't sell absolute new things. (and you're not dumb! - that means I diden't saw you doing dumb things up to now :D )

I'm looking out to merge the disadvantages of the sticks /controls that are out there (...the "big players" are claiming every time that this is now the real deal/thing...)

I'm simply looking for a ergonomic right handling and precision.-and when There is something simple like this out- that also everyone can afford - I will pack my stuff. And enjoying my free time with breeding trout's and playing "Hello Kitty On-line" - like some others are already doing....

But I don't see this up to now...

But what I see is that some spend more money in a graphic card that isn't really necessary! Instead putting money into a great ThripleHead set-up(That really brings you really closer to the "real thing" -monitors getting cheaper every day...) or even a better chair (on which they spending so much hoers...but is hurting their back!)

And I'm not looking for something that I can put in my living room, but afterwards I'm not able to talk with my girlfriend any more (even if she "the" person with the greatest understanding for me and my "things" up to now) , because IT looks so strange and I'm nuts anyway..., and I also need a transporter only for my flight sticks -If I have to move.

Something that you can get partly from some company's but not so easy if you want that all into one controller. And I'm personaly don't like the Idea to fly a helicopter-sim in a style like you would do it when you are training for a Airbus A380 piloting licence...;)

About the FFB....

Maybe I will start a poll someday...-and when I do this I need more help than I have up to now...;)

Edit: Holy Cow!!! I didn't know what to put in my "philosophy" section up to now.....! Up to Now! :)

Tommy, if you looking into a "not so expensive" solution im recommending you Saitek X52 plus Urzes Collective Mod.

Personally im using a CH Fighterstick Pro plus X52 Throttle with Urze's collective mod and im more than satisfied with that combo.

Cheers

I've used a Cougar with extention on it, a Logitech Force 3D, a MS Sidewinder2 USB and now a "hybrid joystick"... And I think you should go for the one you like best..!

CH is really steady and precise.. And they hardly ever break down.! And with Urzes Collective add-on you're set..!

Allthough if you ask me.. Or actually Urze again since he is the one who have bothered to aquire all theis know-how.. I'd go for Urzes MS Force Feedback paired with your joystick of preference... Just because you can't beat the best sollution..

.. but then again.. come to think of it.. I've never been absolutely 100% right about anything in my life..

Maybe a little off topic for some of you again...(yes sometimes I'm a little 'jumpy' ;))

But before you exchange your "working" HOTAS against something better and more expensive....

Why not try it with a touch screens?!:

>>>http://www.veoh.com/videos/v1627326198keXc3X?source=embed<<< (sorry for the... ahm.. -yes -let's call it: "sound ..-editing" - will do it better next time, promised! )

(they get also cheaper each day...)

My opinion?! : The way to go! :joystick:

Hmmm maybe soon with the touch screene.. but my 'working' logitech 3d pro is driving me nuts! Maybe i'll turn off the FF as that's what's causing my problems. But i think its had it's day. (its done 3 years hard work)

However how do i go about getting one of your MS Force Feedback hybrids and how do the drivers and software work!... Urze?

What 'top' do you suggest?

Look into the CH product line up. as well. It's simply the best I've put my hands on. I think the X52 pro would be a good economical choice though, and it will be easier to find setups online for it.

I've used the x52 pro and found it rather, well, arcade like, in comparison. There are times when I'd rather not screw around with making a profile for my CH setup and just download an X52 setup from one of the many that people post them online, but in the end, I'd rather not go back to it.

Either way, you'll end up with a good product, and the X52 is certainly what I would suggest "starting" with. Adding CH pedals to it would be the next step, and then possibly changing to the CH fighterstick while keeping the x52 throttle would be the next.
