I figured out how I can slave the TADS when I have the overlay in the GHS set to TADS, but is there a way to slave the TADS using normal flight symbology?

NVS mode switch to NORM. But this is for flying at night, not for targeting. When this is used, you won't be able to use the laser or change TADS FOV from wide. The TADS functions like the PNVS in this mode.

Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man.

I've been wonding the same. When I turn off the FLIR projection the TADS appears slaved to some random point off in space until I enable FLIR projection again.

i think this is purposely done because you cannot see the TEDAC very well as you turn your head. Therefore the TADS must be visible so you can know when to 'deslave' the TADS from the HMD. And the only way you can effectively see the TADS in the HMD is if the aweful green overlay is projected onto your HMD. It would be so much better if the monocle had an OLED panel that could be AR mode (showing both the TV AND the TADS) or with the flick of a button go in VR mode (only showing the TADS). That way I could choose to disable that distarcting overly bright background that is useless in daytime when I am targeting. I guess that will have to wait for the Apache64-E.
