Joghurt Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 When you look at the moon with a termal imaging camera you will see that it is rather warm, in comparison to space, but in DCS 2.7.11 it is not.
Flappie Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 (edited) Hello Joghurt. Would you be so kind and attach a track showing the issue? A screenshot would be nice too. Edited March 19, 2022 by Flappie ---
Joghurt Posted March 20, 2022 Author Posted March 20, 2022 (edited) Sure, no problem. Have a look at this screenshot: You can totally see the crate I placed in front of the helicopter so you can orient yourself, but you won't see the moon on the thermal image, and that is not correct. The sky should be as cold as it gets, and the moon should be visibly warmer. I'll take a thermal photo of the moon later on if there are no clouds when the moon comes out so you see what I mean. Joghurt Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 Ok, I finally got some photos. The clouds finally opened up and it's also pretty late so please excuse that I didn't travel to an empty space but took them from the street in front of my house. As you can see the moon emits quite some thermal energy, it is in fact even more than the leafs and some of the trees and also some houses around here. (It's like 5 °C here at the moment, but still.) 1 1
Joghurt Posted April 10, 2022 Author Posted April 10, 2022 Was able to take slightly better pictures yesterday: Sorry for the bad quality of the thermal images, my device does not support taking photos so I had to take them through the eyepiece using my cellphone. 1
