TM Warthog, no pedals as of yet.

like the subject says, I can't seem to bind the rudder controls to a hat switch.  I can bind it to the throttle slider axis, but I need an extra hand to work that.

Anyone else with no pedals trying to work this thing?

Expanding on this question a little bit. It appears that the pitch and roll does not work from the keyboard either. The collective does work. Would somebody be able to confirm this along with the yaw problem that dmatsch has found?

UPDATE-On my system I can map the yaw to my stick trim hat. I guess it's just an inconsistency with the Apache. My Huey and Hip still work the way they are mapped.

I bound the rudder to a hat switch with no issue
Mine was an 8 way hat on the throttle (X56), are you meaning an analogue hat similar to what you would normally use as a TDC cursor slew?

If you mean a digital hat then I used the same assignment as z/x for the rudder.

I've since switched back to using the twist on my stick with a generous curve.

Just a thought, are you binding the rudder (and or pitch/roll) to the hat /keyboard whilst also having them bound as an axis elsewhere, that might prevent one working over the other.

I really hate the trim systems on these helo's so I use the keyboard flight keys bound to the trim hat for pitch and yaw trim. It works great on the Huey and Hip. On the Hip one little tap on the trim switch really moves the trim a little to far but I just trim for speed and coordinated flight and adjust the collective for altitude.
On the Apache the keyboard yaw works and I have it bound to the trim hat but the pitch and roll (up, down, left and right) don't work from the keyboard. I've tried remapping them to different keys with out success. I'll have to see what the next update brings.

Sounds like you're trying to map the rudder in the axis settings not the non axis settings.  If you want to map the rudder to buttons (4way hat) then you need to use flight controls mapping.  I think the keyboard buttons are Z & X so when in your controls menu hit either of them and it should take you to the rudder line.  Then map your buttons there.

I checked.  no axis controls, and all are bound in the correct location.  In Axis Controls, bound the throttle slider to the rudder and it worked fine, however it's unflyable without three arms.  I removed that, then bound rudder left and right to the throttle thumb hat 4-way switch (fwd and aft for left and right respectively).  The whirlybird doesn't respond to the hat switch.

Do you have another flight sim installed that you could try or have you tried do it with another helo...if you own one? I think the problem is with DCS and the Apache and we will just have to wait for updates to correct the problems that we are finding.

You can’t bind a none axis control ( the hat switch) in the axis settings. You have to switch to the not axis settings list and assign the hat switch to the rudder in that list.

please stop.  You're misunderstanding where I'm binding these.  They are being bound in the correct locations.

Your having the same problem I am. You want to bind you KEYBOARD yaw trim command buttons to your trim hat switch. I use the keyboard yaw flight buttons (LEFT and RIGHT) to trim with. But like I was asking about earlier...they don't seem to work for everybody and we'll just have to wait for the first update and see if they fix it or if we have to repost the problem until they do.
