Swordsman422 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago TBF, the A-6 radar was added to the threat library of several modules, but not the plane itself. 1

Zabuzard Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I must say, I don't quite understand this feature of the update. You mean what it means on the technical side?It means the RWR of the F-14 (and F-4 and other modules who did this in that patch) now correctly understand the A-6 unit within DCS and can correctly deal with it, code-wise.So once the A-6 is released, it will work for other modules right away. Instead of the usual roundtrip after a new module was added and everyone needing to adjust their modules to work with the new module. 2

I know what it means basically, I'd just have thought it would be possible to add a module / unit and the RWR library stuff at the same time, at least if it comes from the same developer. 1 "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. Silver_Dragon Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago From Heatblur Discord... Quote We would also like to sincerely apologize for yet another delay for the A-6! We ran into an issue with the refueling basket placement, which we are currently solving together with Eagle Dynamics. We thus decided to postpone the release, as the alternative would have been to release it without the refueling capability first. The A-6 will be the first AI aircraft that won't be an exclusive tanker, or rather refueling will only be a small part of its role, hence we decided to take the safe route and implement everything fully from the get go, as the implementation will also set a precedent for the flyable module later on. We also decided to touch up on some textures before release, as we found some last issues we were not yet fully happy with. We hope you can forgive us this delay and hope that this patch will in general bring you enough improvements to enjoy and play with. To me it seems the line confused you into thinking we are holding back a "finished unit" because we first wanted to add it to the RWR libs of the other modules - that is not the case. It is possible to have both in the same patch from a technical perspective. But nothing wrong with adding the RWR changes beforehand either. Also gives the other thirdparties a chance to see the exact unit name in advance and prepare as well. Our changelogs are exhaustive. Someone from the team added it to the code, so it ended up in the respective changelog :) From Heatblur Discord... We would also like to sincerely apologize for yet another delay for the A-6! Dragon1-1 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) What I'm puzzled about is why the KA-6 is holding up the regular A-6. Or is that actually going to be a single unit that can be loaded with the buddy pod? Not a big deal for AI, I guess, but that bodes well for possible player-flown tankers in the future.
