Walking outside as pilot? Did I miss something?

I just watched a nicely cut and well done ad for DCS (spring sale), when a short sequence made me sit up: a pilot walking to their plane. I know that this was a feature that was talked about some time ago, but did it somehow make it to beta/production and silly me slept through that??? 

Or is it an upcoming feature that may eventually make it to the game?

You can eject from a parked aircraft and then wander about the airbase .

Ah. So this is a bit of masterful misdirection then? I kind of like it - not actually lying, because you can do this, but heavily implying that this is 'regular' (as in it occurs during everyday gameplay) game footage when in reality it's something else entirely - advertisement at it's best

Or Suntag’s walking pilot mod. I used it a few years ago (at least I think that’s when it was). Don’t think it’s still available, though. He used to place them on Google Drive rather than in DCS’s Download section. Any of his mods I’ve tried to find recently have disappeared.
