ingvarr Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 I'm flying as CPG. AI menu set to FLT. Flying at 500 ft, altitude shown as radio. I'm commanding altitude increase, George increases altitude saying he is increasing altitude. At about 1420 ft AI menu switches from radio to barometric but value stays the same. When flying in the mountains at ie. 4000 MSL, it means that George decreases the altitude. When I'm commanding altitude increase to 2000 ft, George says he's increasing altitude, but in fact decreases altitude to 2000 MSL
Frederf Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 I had a similar issue when setting a height of 100' with radar altimeter off. George crashes into the ground because the terrain is 1100' elevation and he was trying to fly 1000' under ground. An AGL/MSL hint after the George UI would help to know when he's referencing height and when it's altitude. Additionally when flying near the ground George shouldn't be reliant on any instrument as reference. If he can look out the window he can fly 100' AGL.
