I've been tweaking for days, DCS that is.  Finally managed to see 90 FPS on maps outside of the channel, loaded up the AH-64 tonight and and only got 32 FPS on Caucuses.  I see the texture issue is still there where this helicopter requires medium instead of high textures and after changing that I'm seeing 60-75 now on the MT version using SteamVR.

When I launch the non MT version also using SteamVR as openxr my FPS all the same settings I'm seeing 42-45FPS, up until tonight and all the tweaking I saw no difference between MT and non MT but obviously I see it now.

Using an I5-10600K, 3080 card, Reverb G2 (currently running 50% resolution so have some room to move this up), PD = 1.0

I also set my pre-rendered frames in the NVCP back to 1, based on the GPU graph from steamvr it helped the frame times.

Ohh cool, thank you for posting your settings. I hope all the information in this thread can help someone get the same results or better 😉

Major important scientific discovery this weekend.  I turned off VR and was getting 155 fps in the F-15E at an airbase I was getting VR fps of terrible sub-10s.  I knew something was wrong.  I started changing settings one at a time in SteamVR (I use an Index) - after turning off the Motion Smoothing option, my framerate shot up to 40+.  I guess my particular setup just doesn't like having to synthesize frames or whatever SteamVR said the motion smoothing option does.  Now I can play all aircraft and all airfields.  I had had the motion smoothing option turned on since I got the VR headset in the first place.  Boy, do I feel silly.

Also, the Apache now works with 40+ fps in the DCS: MAD campaign I was having single digit fps in.  Hope my discovery can help someone.

I've disliked motion smoothing from the beginning with Valve Index and always had it turned off in DCS because of the graphical artifacts (particularly with rotors). I also found it wasn't helping my fps much (if any). Glad you got some extra fps.

I'm with ya martini, while taxiing it would warp immediately in front of the cockpit and also prop disks would get warped too.

Hello, FYI you can use my mod to disable your rotor disk when in cockpit
