Just putting a bunch of aircraft on a carrier deck leads to blocking of AI aircraft and even to accidents if a AI F-14 respawns next to a F-14. Being able to assign parking slots like on a normal airfield can help to solve these problems.

A lua function that returns if a aircraft fits on a parking slot would be nice too.

+1, even better is if we could place aircraft however we desire, much like we can with static objects.

Yes it would be great. This allows also for customization of the carrier deck configuration, so for example I could park 12 aircraft on CATs 1 and 2 and use only cats 3 and 4 for launch.

Basically I think parking spots and free positioning would be perfect at least for clients
